So, I was poisoned and down to my last hit point. Next to me lied an Achilles' Bracer which increased my HP by 2. I moved onto the bracer and died from poisoning, but the game still asked me if I wanted to equip the bracer. I did. End result: the guy is still standing (with 2 HP), I still got a Game Over, and the Heroic Record states "Alive" as the cause of death.

Sing hallelujah, it's only been 3 decades of this genre, but we've finally found a dungeon crawler that automatically discards any items that are strictly inferior to what you already have. Add in the how-did-we-ever-survive-without-this feature of side-stepping obstacles (never thought of it, but the game moves so much smoother with it) and this is a hell of a great game to get for free. 5/5.

i feel we should have a morale bonus for higher difficulties, for example 10% extra on hard and 25% extra on suicide?

I want the impossible badge, but I don't understand how the scoring works at all. How much score is for time/gold/items/kills/etc? I don't know what to focus on at all. Should I kill every enemy? explore every square? ignore the scavengers or buy them out? Or just speed rush to the finish ignoring everything? Does using items affect anything?

the ability to auto side-step when walking directly into a tree is such an under rated skill, thanks to whoever implemented that :D
